This 1933 villa, a tribute to the Amsterdam School, has been brought back to life with respect for its monumental character and surroundings. Inspired by the nearby Gulden Bodempark, this restoration reflects a balance between history and contemporary livability.
The house tells a story of time and patina, where natural materials such as various types of stone, warm wood tones and textures of linen and wallpaper add a rich layering. Every detail has been carefully chosen to create a connection between inside and outside, past and future.
The warm white walls catch the light and accentuate the authentic elements, such as stained glass, while modern additions subtly contribute to a sustainable and practical living space. A subdued color palette creates peace and cohesion throughout all four floors, with a playful twist in the social areas and a serene atmosphere in the more intimate rooms, such as the “Zen Room” and the Master Suite. This house invites you to celebrate life.
This interior design is the result of a valuable collaboration between Wonderstruck, Hum Studio en BNLA-architecten.
